Who We Are
An anchor of the Conscious Cities Index Research Project, The Big Sit is an ongoing community project focusing on the use of public spaces for mindfulness practice and intentional activity that fosters mental and social health.
How We Began
The Big Sit was initiated over the 2020 pandemic as a way for people to meet and connect in a different way.
The first Big Sit was held on Mindfulness Day, 12 September 2020, at Guoco Tower in Singapore. The space, located in the middle of the city's Central Business District, offered the public accessibility to mindfulness practice and a more intentional way of being.

To date, we have hosted more than 20 Big Sits across four cities including Singapore, London, Monterrey, and Jaipur.

Through The Big Sit, we continue to explore how mindfulness, people, and places come together to drive social health in the city.
